Melting Ice in Vermont

From I-89, Take Exit 8 ­ Montpelier
Follow access road to 4th stop light.  Turn left onto Main Street (you'll cross a bridge).  Go to next stop light.  Turn right onto East State Street.  Follow the road up the hill to the Vermont College Campus.

On Route 12 from the Morrisville area
Enter Montpelier on Route 12 which becomes Elm Street.  Stay on Elm until it ends at State Street.  Turn left here and proceed to the first stoplight at the intersection of State Street and Main Street.  State Street takes a slight jog to the left at this intersection and becomes East State Street.  Follow the road up the hill to the Vermont College Campus.

On Route 12 from the Randolph/Northfield area
Enter Montpelier on Route 12, Northfield Street.  At the first traffic light, go straight onto Main Street (you'll cross a bridge).  Go to next stop light.  Turn right onto East State Street.  Follow the road up the hill to the Vermont College Campus.

On Route 2 from the Waterbury/Middlesex area
Enter Montpelier on Route 2, State Street and continue past the State Capitol building.  You will come to a traffic light at the intersection of State Street and Main Street.  State Street takes a slight jog to the left at this intersection and becomes East State Street.  Follow the road up the hill to the Vermont College Campus.

On Route 2 from East Montpelier & points east OR Route 302 from Barre
Enter Montpelier from either of these routes, which merge at Walker Motors (a Ford dealership) and become River Street.  Continue to the third stoplight (with a Mobil station on the left).  Turn right onto Main Street (you'll cross a bridge).  Go to next stop light.  Turn right onto East State Street.  Follow the road up the hill to the Vermont College Campus.

At the Top of the Hill
At the top of the hill, you will see the Vermont College green (quad area) on your right.  State Street ends where it runs into College Street at a "T" intersection.  Park in one of the lots or on College Street; watch out for 'No Parking' signs.
